Bohnes has released an acoustic version of his latest single “My Friends”, and an EP filled with the track featuring artists such as Chace, Milk N Cooks, VCDC, Chantry, and Pretty Sister. “My Friends” is about getting to know your “enemies” or demons and befriending them instead of trying to run away or avoiding them. The original video version of “My Friends” is definitely different than the acoustic version. This version is much slower than the original version. The vocals in the song are more passionate, but it retains the same meaning. You can already hear the passion through Bohnes’ voice, but the video tugs at your heartstrings even more.
Bohnes is seen walking along an airplane that looks scratched up. The song is being played during a beautiful sunset. “My Friends” shows that our demons stay with us forever so we may as well befriend them. It is an absolute masterpiece, and the anticipation of seeing what Bohnes releases next is nail biting.

With a follow up from his previous single “Favourite Song”, Pizzagirl has what it takes to go far with his music. The indie musician is back with a new track entitled “Carseat”, and lyrics that make it easy to listen to from start to finish. The song has a nostalgic pop vibe to it to that feels straight out of a movie. In four minutes, Pizzagirl makes you feel like you are on a ride. When listening to the track it is like you are being taken to a new fascinating world that has never been seen before.
“Carseat” is a dedication to drivers that cannot drive. Often the passengers in the car can control the music the entire destination while the driver has to focus on driving. In “Carseat”, the passenger is controlling the music.

London-based duo San Scout has just dropped their single, “Familiar”. Comprised of Fred and Jonny, San Scout has put out an enthralling track, filled with dreamy vocals and one heck of a beat. Known for their “glitch-pop” sound, San Scout’s off-center music hits all the right places. You wouldn’t guess their songs are made in DIY, makeshift studios around London, but San Scout’s signature is effortlessness. They have seen success with their previous singles, “You Instead” and “Hold Fire”, among others, since their creation in early 2016.
With lyrics that will make you nostalgic for something or somewhere you don’t even know, pulling on your heartstrings and leave you breathless, “Familiar” is a definite bop. A song that sounds like a musical refuge, you’ll want to listen to “Familiar” over and over again. Says San Scout of their work, “Still pushing ahead with this project despite some pretty sound advice from family friends. We’re pleased to introduce ‘Familiar’. We can’t wait to see what 2018 holds for San Scout.

Now that she has dropped out of Berklee College and left Boston behind to pursue her career in music as an artist, STEEGS has burned a path of success in front of her that is sure to lead her where she want to go. Not only is this passion and enthusiasm for music shown in her actions, but also in the songs that he has produced. Looking forward, there is a lot of hype that surrounds her upcoming release of, “Come Through” which was released on February 8, 2018. What has been marked as a “tenacious,” this single packs a punch at every turn and ends with an explosive last chorus. The art behind this song, however, is deeply rooted in her raw-guitar work and honesty driven lyrics. Like she has shown in the past, holding back is not an option which is clearly expressed in her music and choice of words.
Although “Come Through” is one of the first singles that STEEGS has released to the public, it is not her first experience with performing and brining music to her fans. While participating in a dark pop-rock band with two of her three sisters, she was able to win over the hearts of those on the Santa Monica Pier as a street performer. Since then, this artist has evolved and grown into herself and is ready to take the music industry by storm, with nothing standing in her way.

Welsh quartet Kidsmoke debuted their latest song, “Sister Sadness” earlier this week which is the perfect follow-up to their 2017 EP Save Your Sorrow.
With an upbeat, optimistic melody and melancholic lyrics, this song bode feelings of summer and promise. The song features a confident and fresh guitar melody blended flawlessly with the bands signature mellow, calming lyrics and hazy, dream-like vibes. While the lyrics express heartbreak and a tender sensation, there’s a tinge of optimism, a trademark to Kidsmoke’s signature sound.
The inspiring indie sound, pulsating drum, and driving guitar creates bright, buoyant feelings of hope which is perfect any setting. Whether a winter bonfire or summer road trip, this song is must for any playlist. Its diverse sound allows listener to experience a variety of feelings while listening. Each time I listened, a new feeling was awakened in me both morose yet exhilarated.
With “Sister Sadness” being featured on BBC 6 Steve Lamacq’s Music Recommends Track of the Week and a previous track being featured on Netflix’s Black Mirror, it’s safe to say Kidsmoke is a band to watch if you’re not following them already. If you’re a fan of The Beatles or The Smiths, this is a song to check out!

Luxgaze has three singles under her belt and soon, an album. The Toronto native recently just released “Pretty Eyes” an instrumental piece described by some as a “psychedelic abstract.” It is an accurate description for the song. I’m not usually one for instrumentals unless it’s jazz, but Luxgaze is the exception. My best description of her music would be being stuck in a tunnel, and being completely fine with it. It’ll leave feeling completely zen while getting just the right amount of that “psychedelic vibe.” But really to experience this, you’ll just have to listen to “Pretty Eyes” on your own.
