lunar, “miss u no more”

lunar, “miss u no more”

Lunar hits the mark with her song “Miss U No More”, starting off with a soft beat as Lunar’s voice adds on to the track. The song is really good and at the end believe me when I say it will leave you wanting more. Lunar shows off her musical talent in the song, letting her vocals shine through the track.

The song is about the singer no longer missing her lover. The singer in the beginning seems like she misses her lover as the song goes on you learn that she in fact does not. Lunar understands the reasons why the relationship is over and comes to the conclusion that the relationship is over and it is some what her fault.

“Miss U No More” is a great song for those trying to get over a relationship. The song is well worth the listen, solidifying Lunar’s spot in music.

febueder, “paramount tether”

febueder, “paramount tether”

Febueder just released a video for their latest “Paramount Tether”. The video had a homemade feel to it but is nothing short of trippy. What starts as a series of street lights, soon turn into flashes of lights and candles. The camera starts cutting to random images which include but are not limited to, dead dogs/animals, blood soaked sheets, random strangers, and bodies of water.

Have you ever watched anything and after you were just like “What?” That’s how I feel about this video, incredibly intrigued in the best way.  The song is trippy in itself too.  It flows with drums, trumpets, and deep vocals.  It has a similar feel to Alt-J’s sound, but this is more distinctive and less produced which makes for a raw sound.

bdrmm, “kare”

bdrmm, “kare”

Bdrmm (yes that is their name) just relased their latest track “Kare.”  “Kare” has a very hazey feel to it.  However, it also has that familiar 90’s-teenange-pop feel to it that we all know and love.  It sounds like an unlikely mixture but Bdrmm manages to make it work on “Kare.”  Bdrmm’s songwriter Ryan Smith gives his take on “Kare” saying:

“kare” was written inevitably after a night out. I had gotten the wrong impression from somebody and it turned out my feelings were being taken advantage of just so they didn’t have to stay in on a Saturday night.”  This feeling is transferred into lyrics such as “If I stay would you even care, if I leave would you even care.”

“Kare” is inspired by an unfortuanate event, but a great song came of it.

jinka, “countdown forever”

jinka, “countdown forever”

Transylvanian producer and singer Jinka has just dropped her fourth single, “Countdown Forever”, a wonderfully original and perfectly eccentric track. Jinka puts out what she calls “happy trip pop”, and that about sums up her sound. Original, eclectic, and thoroughly fun, Jinka knows how to make a song all her own. Having previously released a few more tracks, Jinka is back better than ever with her new single. Dripping with sonic color and upbeat electronic sounds, “Countdown Forever” will wake you up and shake off all the boring and mundane.

Says Jinka of her new single: “Countdown Forever is about an illusional state of infinite hedonistic experience. The title is paradoxical. But just because something is paradoxical it doesn’t mean you can’t explore the idea of it. I think, what I generally do when I’m writing is that I try to take a different perspective on the mundane, dip crude reality into some sort of surreal glossing, romanticize it without smoothening the contours.”

Jinka certainly pulls of her description of the song, and takes the listener for an journey on her original soundscape.

“Countdown Forever” is a track you won’t want to miss, so give it a listen today.

kyle meadows, “crossing corners”

Pennsylvanian indie singer-songwriter Kyle Meadows is gearing up to release his third album, Crossing Corners on May 1, following the release of his 2015 debut, False Charmers, and his sophomore Self Titled record. The title track, “Crossing Corners”, was just released a week ago. While Meadows has only been putting records out for the past three years, he’s been playing guitar and songwriting since his early teenage years, beginning to take a genuine interest in putting out his own music in 2012. A gentle track featuring Meadows’ soothing vocals and well-balanced instrumentals, “Crossing Corners” is the ultimate indie acoustic track. “Crossing Corners” combines careful lyricism with Meadows’ moving, clear vocal capability.

Says Meadows of the track, “Crossing Corners” is a recycled song. I wrote it while I was still in high school, but it never had a chorus and the melody was totally different. I always knew there was something special about it so I would always come back to it. It wasn’t until about two years ago, when it all kind of fell into place though. After demo-ing it, I knew it had potential.”

lowlight, “nights and weekends”

Ushering in their next release is the synth-pop quintet that has been coined as New Jersey’s “hardest working and most loyal outfits.” Since their debut, Lowlight has been working hard to create fresh, new music that will keep fans moving. Now, they are coming forward with another track from their forthcoming EP Born to Run entitled, “Nights and Weekends,” which, like the name implies, is an anthemic, emotive single that is sure to catch the attention of synth-pop fans throughout the world.  Scheduled to drop on March, 30, fans and band members alike are waiting with baited breath in anticipation of the new release. Lyrically, the lead vocalist encourages fans to live up the nights and weekends and live while the night is still young. nightseason, “nothing calms my mind”

nightseason, “nothing calms my mind”

Moving into the spotlight is dynamic duo Nightseason who released their debut single, “Nothing Calms My Mind” last week via Noon Pacific. Their unique sound, however, is not the only thing that sets this group apart. Before releasing anything, Nightseason wrote their first EP by communicating through emails without ever even meeting each other in person. This, however, would not stop Patrick Zeinali and Jordan Caiola from collaborating together to form what has been marked as potentially one of the most successful singles in the world of rising new artists. Both of these band members were inspired by recent heartache that eventually led to the formation of Nightseason.

With the hopes of conveying a specific message that was full of both feeling and emotion and also dreaming of turning the world of rock on its head, Nightseason has worked tirelessly to produce, “Nothing Calms My Mind.” Looking ahead, fans can expect the debut of their 5-track EP later in in the year. Musically, this band features raw vocals from Caiola together with the production magic of Zeinali, there is nothing stopping this band from moving up in the world of music and accomplishing exactly what they set out to do originally.

fenne lily, “on hold”

fenne lily, “on hold”

Coming out of the woodworks and shocking the music world as a whole is only one attribute that has caught the attention of fans and critics from around the world. Blossoming artist Fenne Lily has broken out of mundane and average to achieve something that is worth while, but more importantly, worth the listen. Mostly acknowledged for her work on Aldous Harding’s last album, Fenne Lily was able to gain the traction that she needed with a surprising 20 million Spotify streams. Her style has been compared to the of Angel Olsen and Linda Perhacs, and has been given the title of “Joni Mitchell meets 4AD.” One of the greatest features of this 20-year-olds vocal performance is the versatility and flexibility in her voice. There is a “je ne sais quoi” feel about the atmosphere that she creates that entices the listener and soothes the soul.

Most recently Fenne Lily has come out with her single, “On Hold” with its accompanying music video that she created and produced by herself. It features Fenne rolling around London on roller skates handing out roses. Full of charm and quirk, this artist clearly has much to offer the rising generation on music and vocal talent.

arlo shows no signs of stopping with latest release “settle”

arlo shows no signs of stopping with latest release “settle”

Ah, ARLO.  I recently wrote on him and I am excited to do so again.  Not only did the London-based newcomer sell out his headlining show at The Waiting Room, he also just released a new single “Settle.”  I’ve listened to ARLO before so I know that he has a beautiful voice, but “Settle,” really takes the cake.  Contrary to the title, “Settle” isn’t about settling for less at all. Packed with emotions ARLO asks the question we’ve all asked ourselves at one point “So why don’t you choose me?”  Even more painful on the track, “It’s obvious to me that I don’t mean much to you.”  No, the lyrics aren’t happy-go-lucky but the don’t have to be as ARLO’s emotion and soul on the track is what really makes this beautiful.
