Despite the fact that his success can not be attributed to his predecessors, his inspiration has a direct tie to his familial roots in Detroit.

As Scales continues to make his mark on what he calls, “Dive-Bar Soul,” fans continue to soak up all of his lyrical genius and luscious bluesy tones. Dom Fricot just released a new video for “Echoes”, which follows two young boys running through the city. Shot in the streets of Nepal, the two friends spend the day exploring the city by scaling walls, running on roofs, exploring the city and joking with each other. The video for “Echoes” is almost a mini feature film, as subtitles are used while Dom’s voice echoes in the background. Dom Fricot even incorporates a political narrative about Pakistan by the end of the video. With stunning visuals and peaceful vocals by Fricot, “Echoes” makes out to be a beautiful track and a tasteful video.

jeremy & the harlequins, “california rock”

Released on the heels of NYC rock n’ roll outfit Jeremy & the Harlequins last hit track that debut last November is their new single, “California Rock,” that hit the market recently and has already started to work its way up the charts. With the hopes and dreams of keeping good rock n’ roll alive, this group has worked tirelessly to preserve everything that fans love about this iconic genre. “It’s ‘California Rock‘ from a New York state of mind,” explains vocalist Jeremy Fury. “The song is about my favorite time capsule, Los Angeles. Contrary to New York where a bank or cupcake shop will have replaced a mom and pop shop by the time you finish listening to this track, one thing I’ve come to love about LA is its Groundhog’s Day-like permanence. Prior to moving to New York, I lived in Echo Park and then Downtown LA for almost three years. This tune is reflective tale.”

With this new single released, the band has also stated that they have hopes of releasing even more music for their fans later in in the spring. With all of their skill in fast paced, electric soundscapes and beautifully crafted lyrical masterpieces, there is no doubt that there is no place to go but up for this up and coming rock n’ roll band.

you’re not “dreaming”, this is savi minds

you’re not “dreaming”, this is savi minds

Savi Minds is the stuff of dreams. Literally, he’s bringing us “Dreaming” today. Just as the name implies, this brand new single is a sonic paradise that provides a getaway while you’re listening to it. Floating, moving, and filled with an ethereal sound, “Dreaming” will take your soul to new heights. Savi Minds (irl New Jersey native Mikale D’Andrea) is currently based in Los Angeles.

Says Mikale of his track: “’Dreaming’ is a powerful, down-tempo, and reverb drenched trip of a song; best experienced driving with the windows down.” He couldn’t be more correct. “Dreaming” is not only a joyride for the senses, but it also highlights his songwriting skills, with lines like “There’s endless music in my ears/my words are gone/I’m blissful in sound”. Every aspect of the song makes for an enjoyable listen. Nothing amazing is ever easy, and this track was not exception; it took plenty of time and hard work.

Referencing the time he spent in creating “Dreaming”, Mikale says,

When I’m really deep in a song, I sometimes lock myself in my room for days or weeks, really neglecting other parts of my life.  It’s easy to view the windows of my bedroom as the borders of my own world. Sometimes it’s a blissful experience to be in my own head, but it can be very lonely.

What are you waiting for? Treat your ears to “Dreaming”.
