Nashville-based indie rock outfit Jon Reynolds & The Aches releases a new track this week called “Tomorrow’s News”, and we’ve got your exclusive premiere. The second single in their three track lead up to their EP in early 2019, “Tomorrow’s News” exists at a moderate clip, really drawing the listener in to its country vibes. At first listen, hints of The Eagles are palpable. Admits Reynolds of the meaning behind the track:
After the November 2016 elections wrapped up, I felt a deep need and responsibility to contribute what I could to what I can only describe as a cultural civil war. On an even more personal level, I promised myself 4 years ago, when I first moved to Nashville, that I would make music I believed in: music that I was passionate about personally. There are few things more motivating than seeing a man who openly discussed sexual assault get elected president of the United States. I wake up feeling very anxious about the next nonsensical statement or action I’m going to read in my morning news- I put that feeling into this song.
Allow yourself to get enveloped in a beautiful expression of frustration with our current world. This song is a beautiful conversation starter, and the exact sound you need on an early autumn evening.

The first single from singer/songwriter Cristabelle Braden‘s upcoming EP is revving up for release, and we’ve got the exclusive premiere right here! The catchy pop track highlights the importance of beacons of light during dark times. “Light in the Dark” was inspired by Cristabelle’s own struggle with a severe head injury, and the time following that, during which she began her own organization called Hope After Head Injury. Though the song itself is sticky sweet at times, the lyrics bring out the melancholic tone and moments of self-evaluation that we all have at one time or another.
Allow yourself to get lost in a different world for a bit, and try “Light in the Dark” on for size.
“Light in the Dark” is available for pre-order now via iTunes and Amazon. For more about Cristabelle’s work with brain injury, visit hopeafterheadinjury.com. Keep up with Cristabelle Braden here.

Today not only marks our success in cresting that mid-week hump (We see you, hump day!), but it also marks the release of Nashville-based singer/songwriter Kate Kelly‘s new track “Honey” and we’ve got the exclusive premiere. From her delicate yet sultry vocals – which are smoother than the song’s namesake, in our opinion – to the jazzy instrumentals, this song is a “sweet like candy” soundscape perfect for the (impending) cooling weather. And if you listen to the lyrics, there’s another layer to it all that most will find intriguing and relatable.
Says Kate of the track:
Writing “Honey” was so much more than writing a new song— it was writing a new feeling into my life experience. When “Honey” appeared within me, I found a version of myself I didn’t know existed. The song brought with it a new-found sense of self that was sassy, independent, and empowered in her truth. I still use “Honey” to remind myself to embrace my authenticity and independence, which is my biggest hope for listeners as well.

Baton Rouge-born and Austin, TX-based musician Ben Millburn has been gracing the psych genre with his own brand of beautiful, kaleidoscope-like tracks. His most recent – a single titled “Call Me King” – touts the talent that we are to expect from his upcoming debut LP, Sunglass Moustache. And though we have to wait until the autumn months to get our ears on that release, we’ve got the exclusive premiere of “Call Me King” for you right now.
Layering in from simple guitar chords, Ben’s relaxed, 60’s vocals – though sometimes abrupt – lead you on . a journey through a soundscape that is absolute perfection for those lazy summer nights. (Or, perhaps more specifically, those nights in the warm months that you allow yourself to slow down for a beat.) We’re big fans, so much so that we might insist that you refer to us as “King.”
Sunglass Moustache is out this September. Keep your eyes peeled for it here.
