thayer serrano, “i will never be used to your beauty”

Southern-psych artist Thayer Serrano has been weaving unique soundscapes into intricate and beautiful art for quite some time now. The release of newest single “I Will Never Be Used to Your Beauty” is no exception. Ominous undertones open the track, with Serrano’s dusky, raspy vocals adding an additional layer of darkness to it all. The sonic layout of the song makes it perfect for the witching month! Bask in the delicate glow of it all below, then add it to all of your Halloween playlists!

Swedish art pop songwriter and producer Be The Bear – otherwise known as Christine Wehage – released her new single with GOLDHOUSE on Friday titled “Ruler”. Having hit the scene with an incredible array of remixes, it’s fun to see what she and GOLDHOUSE have accomplished together. With a luscious, earthy backdrop, the vocals take a slight island vibe that entices you to move to the beat. It’s definitely an elevated dance mix that will have you swaying in the autumn air!

Whirring guitar and intense percussion lead you into a soundscape that sets its listener into party mode. This song is hard-hitting and raw, sticking with you far after the track stops playing. isla invisible, ep 1

isla invisible, ep 1

On September 28th, New York-based trio Isla Invisible – comprised of Rebecca Adorno, Julian Brau, and Ryan Correira – released four track collection EP1, and we’ve got some thoughts. From the first, slow, almost trepidatious lines of initial track “Pillow”, EP1 seems to glide through the atmosphere, leaving showers of slow motion glitter in its wake. Even with the deeper, surf-friendly sounds of “Outward” – check out the lyrics that match the vibes of the instrumentals perfectly – and its punk-tinged follow-up “Frail Devices”, the collection boasts an ethereal yet raw sound that will stick with you hours past listening to it. “If All Is” rounds it all out with that same soft sound provided by the vocals in “Pillow”, though there’s much more intent behind this track. It might actually throw you into a state where you’re not entirely sure which emotion you should evoke, but that’s the beauty of EP1. It brings us to a place where we can lay our emotions bare and feel what the music has to offer.

With the smoothness of a Chromeo track, and a soulful vibe that likens the track to many of its influences, pop rock collectve Pet Envy‘s new track “Middleman” provides the upper hand in its genre, giving us all a new standard by which to judge our new fall releases. The Nashville-based band – comprised of Shelbi Albert, Jake Diggity, Matthew Singler, Jordan Klatt, and Emma Lambiase – brings a certain flare to the track that gives you permission to bob your head along, no matter the atmosphere you might encounter it in.

For example, now would be great.

jaime, “dreams” ft. mittone

jaime, “dreams” ft. mittone

Pushing through boundaries with his newest release this week is JAIME. The German born producer, sound designer and drummer wows with “Dreams,” a cleanly produced but seriously memorable piece of hip-hop meets future bass.

He has worked alongside MITTONE for this track, which will form part of his forthcoming album – something we are already looking forward to. “Dreams” is a jigsaw of raw rhythms, pitched down vocals and diverse instrumentation, coming together with a sense of both suspense and excitement. It’s a ground-breaking single, and one that will take JAIME to a new crowd of listeners.

blvth, blut

blvth, blut

There is something special out for release by BLVTH right now. With his influences ranging greatly from bass to hip-hop and everything in between, the mysterious producer has just delivered his eight-track EP blut. It’s an enticing listen for many reasons, but we love the way that BLVTH refuses to stay within the constraints of one or two genres.

Standouts on the EP have to come courtesy of “Pusher” (we particularly love the version featuring vocalist Soiceytrap), and “Disney,” which really hits hard with its moments of sharp contrast.

You can now listen through each eight tracks in full, check them out right here.

Philly-based post-punk-meets-indie/rock collective SOLD – comprised of Ted Quann, Jon Murphy, Scott Signorino, and Stefan Niemoczynski – recently released their track “Feels”, which builds up from a quiet, moderate-tempo song into a cacophony of sound, a soundscape filled with yelling and crashing, among other things. One of the 4 tracks featured on their EP Feels Unreal, “Feels” gives us an intense and fun glimpse into what’s to come.
