The day after Thanksgiving was pretty thrilling, as it saw Swedish producer Kasbo and his cohorts entering city limits to play The Truman. We were thrilled by the lineup – which included Vancouver Sleep Clinic and Longer Days – as the night dissolved into a chaotic blur shortly after he took the stage. We wouldn’t have it any other way.
Michael Kight grew up in Dublin, Georgia, playing guitar since age 12. Influenced by Motown and Elvis as a child, he later came into his own inspired by the sounds of 90’s R&B. Always having a deep-rooted passion for music, he moved to Nashville and played with several musicians as well as took up producing. Wanting to break out and establish himself he auditioned for The Voice. Before auditioning for The Voice, he played guitar for Season 3 artist Amber Carrington. Now it’s his time to shine and front the show with his single, “Clear”, and we have the exclusive premiere. Here is the scoop on the sound of the new single.
“Clear” begins like a true R&B hit. Smooth and soulful vocals with soft jazz keys. As the intro transitions to verse joining the mix is a laid-back hip-hop beat and a slow romantically grooving bass line. Michael has a great mid-range voice that may throw some listeners as he sounds extremely ethnically cultured. He can also hit those high notes without any breaks, shakes, or vocal strain. Pre-chorus he is accompanied by reverse synth notes, finger snaps, and excellently placed vocal overdubs. The bass and drum find perfect harmony as they pump and pulsate like a beating human heart. It’s a deep punch as they strike, but it’s not overpowering to the song. It’s the right amount of slow jam and subwoofer teasing bass.
While the lyrics are semi-romantic asking a girl to be clear in her intentions, it’s pretty clear she caused a little damage. Enough to question if it was real, to begin with. It’s a real question as he states “even if hurts.” The midsection has a creative synth replicating jazz horns. The build is subtle and the song comes back in in a way that is refreshing. Allowing the music to be felt before slowly fading away.
It’s been made very clear that Micheal Kight has the vocal range, instrument and producer skill, a lot of experience in the background and is now ready to take and own center stage.

Breaking out one of the greatest singles that is promised to get listeners dancing throughout the world is pop artist and producer WNT-AL-N (pronounced Went All In) who has just dropped his latest single, “Leave it on the Floor.” After being influenced by several cultures as a child, this up coming artist has found a way to mesh the sounds of his multi-faceted home experiences into one cohesive sound that is both infections and incredibly innovative. “Leave it on the Floor” is a melting pot that combines elements of Caribbean pop, funk, reggae, hip hop, and even a hint of jazz into a single that is promised to please across the globe. Throughout the single, listeners can enjoy the funky guitar twangs as well as vocals that are as clean as they are enjoyable to listen to. When speaking of his latest release, WNT-AL-N said,
“We all need an outlet from the stresses that society, family, finances, work etc. put on us. Picture a carefree childhood where you’re enjoying life to the fullest and you’re all about being in the moment. Growing up, music was my escape to a place where I could go all in. While WNT-AL-N is not creating and producing more music, he often travels between Atlanta and Singapore in order to aid the homeless and victims of human trafficking and abuse through his work with Hanoi-based non-profit organization Blue Dragon. Without a doubt, his future music has promise considering the quality and impressive skill demonstrated in, “Leave it on the Floor,” making him one of the key players in the developing music community.
Tanners just released her debut single “Holy Water.” The New York based songwriter/producer has already engineered several artists’ records and is taking music into her own hand with “Holy Water, which resides in the world of synth psych-pop. With the help of Tanners’ sweet voice, “Holy Water” exudes sensuality. She pulls you in with lyrics like “I can be your Jesus if you let me” and “Come with me and swim into my daydream.”
“Holy Water” is inspired by Tanners’ childhood fondness for the beach. It revolves around of being born again by water in the purest form. Tanners comments on the track: “It’s a thank you song to the ocean for teaching me to embrace vulnerability.”
Australian producer and house artist Husky dropped his new beat “Can’t Shake It Off.” He’s not alone on the track though. He has help from X-Factor artist Nat Conway and the song already has been remixed Alaia& Gallo and Mark Di Meo.
I’m a big fan of house music or as I like to call it “catwalk music.” What really makes a house track for me, is the tempo whether it be the consistency or inconsistency of the beats, the vocals (if there are any), and the ability to make you feel relaxed or even “oh so fab.” Husky executes all these things with the assistance of Nat Conway’s sweet but sassy vocals. It is a song that will make you want to strut, a song that will make you want to roll your windows down, and a song that I’ve already played three times back-to-back (oops!).
