shaqdi delivers new sound with “better”

shaqdi delivers new sound with “better”

London based newcomer Shaqdi delivers with her new single “Better”. “Better” is a follow up from her previous single “Colorless”. Shaqdi puts herself in a category of her own with her new single “Better”. The song is a mixture of a fresh R&B sound that cannot be put in any category.  The song has a certain sound that has not quite been done before.

Shaqdi got her start in music at a young age, having growing up in a small town in Sweden, Shaqdi then learned how to play piano and violin at the ripe age of four. “Better” is a prime example of all the hard work she has put into her music. With Shaqdi’s soft voice, she brings a soft sound to the track.

the indigo project, “as always”

the indigo project, “as always”

With crashing drums and a high energy kickoff, five piece indie pop collective The Indigo Project – comprised of Joe Spink, Tony Francis, Alex Crow, Oliver Barry, and Jack Manktelow – releases their new track “As Always”. With a soundscape similar to some of our 2000s pop punk favorites, the track’s tempo changes several times, keeping its listener on their toes and anticipating the coming lines. Singing with a very debonair Leeds-specific vocalization, we’re enthralled by the band themselves and find ourselves looking forward to what’s to come.

glassio, “back for more”

glassio, “back for more”

New York-base duo Glassio – comprised of Sam R. and Charles Pinel, raised in Dubai/London and Paris, respectively – is out boasting their new single “Back For More”. And for good reason too, as the sound is both upbeat and – almost unbearably – calming at the same time. With a tempo similar to an older, more innocent, video game soundtrack, we’re engulfed into the lightweight, beautiful soundscape that Glassio has become known for. Vocals butter it up even more, giving a tranquil, pleasant cherry on top of this track that seems almost too perfect for your springtime playlist.

the palms, “love”

the palms, “love”

With over 5.5 million streams on Spotify under their belt, The Palms have release another song that has been pitted to be as, if not more, successful than the last. Their most recent release, “Love” is a single that is full of the same talent and flare that they brought in their previous releases with even more for fans to adore. Released on March 30, The Palmshave re-imagined, “Love,” by Lana Del Ray.

Within their music, fans can expect to find hints and nuances from that cover several different genres including pop, hip-hop, folk and more. As they set out to recreate and redefine the music industry, they decided that labels could not bind them to a specific type of sound or style. Together, Johnny Zamvetti and Ben Rothbard have explored the depths of several different areas of music which has resulted in the creation of a very specific, defined and unique sound that they have since coined as their own. Determined, they have worked to secure their place in the music industry and reassure fans that their presence would undoubtably become permanent. Their authentic and DIY feel has propelled them into a realm of quick independent success that has become rare in recent years.

iako, “queen of balance”

iako, “queen of balance”

Currently based in London, Venetian singer-songwriter Jacopo Rossetto (IAKO, in the music world) has just debuted his first single, “Queen of Balance”. He’ll be releasing an EP by the same name, and with this first taste of his music, we can’t wait to hear more. The 22-year old artist has captured a phenomenal amount of emotion into his song, highlighted by his carefully balanced vocals and instrumentation. His title track sounds not only pure and vulnerable, but also mature. Says IAKO of his brand new song, “I wrote ‘Queen of Balance’ around this time last year, at the end of a difficult period that eventually made me lose a very important person. I’d say it’s about the acceptance of masculine vulnerability at its purest state.” It’s evident that IAKO has been able to achieve what many seek (and fail) in a debut: making a statement.

Check out “Queen of Balance” today, and keep an eye out for IAKO’s EP by the same name.

forest ray gives a 70s feel with “laughing”

forest ray gives a 70s feel with “laughing”

Forest Ray’s “Laughing” takes a glimpse into what the band is actually about, psychedelic rock with a mix of a country sound. Laughing sounds like a song straight out of the 60s and 70s with a new touch to it.

“Laughing” is filled with a psychedelic rock sound mixed with country with minimum words. The song is just in time with the spring/summer season as it sounds like the perfect song to take a spring/summer ride to. The song is full of groves and tunes that are guaranteed to give you a vintage feel. The song is relaxing, leaving you wanting more.

swimming bell, “desert song (a lullaby)”

swimming bell, “desert song (a lullaby)”

Brooklyn based Swimming Bell have released a new single that is sure to bring them closer to the dream that they once thought, at one point, unteachable. Their newest release, “Desert Song (a lullaby)” was written in a cool October night while band member Katie Schottland was driving after attending a wedding. Before long, she found herself lost with a phone that had little to no battery. After pulling off the road to stop for the night and after many failed attempts to reach a satisfactory slumber, the words for this new release came to her as she tried to soothe her wild imagination.

Swimming Bell is a solo project that was created by Schottland after participating in several different bands over the past few years. With relatively no musical training, Katie has approached music with pure skill, talent and a highly developed ear for good sound. With the release of this new single, Swimming Bell hopes to also release a full length album by the end of this year. Along with these plans for future releases, it has also been announced that this group will be turning around the United States in order to share their music with anyone who is willing to listen.

koda, “touch”

koda, “touch”

L.A. producer /artist Koda just released his latest single “Touch”, which is melancholy, intense, and seeps into your feelings.  The song begins with lyrics from Koda stating “We touch ourselves to distant memories/I feel what you felt when you were lying next to me.”  His voice is drawn out and breathy giving the song a haunting mood to it.  While he track tells the tale of a past love, the whole thing isn’t so bleak.  Koda finds hope through the heartbreak on “Touch” proclaiming “Next time I’ll hold you close, I’ll never let you go– I need another dose so you can make me whole again.”  “Touch” encompasses all the things that went wrong, but all the things that can go right should you make the decision to go the second time around.
