LA-based artist KODA released his latest single “Nazareth” and it is a dynamic, atmospheric track. He is brutally honest about his inner struggles and the complexity of them. This song reminds me of how current pop music has openly embraced mental health issues in a way that relates to the younger generations of today. There has been a shift from bubblegum pop to a darker, more real approach. In that way, KODA’s sound reflects the millennial pop/R&B vibes of Zayn or The Weeknd. The subtle beat paired with his emotional vocals create a deeply personal, emotional track that gets extremely candid about his anxiety. Getting this personal is always risky, always scary, but KODA has achieved it in a way that shows his truth and, as a result, created a beautiful piece.
L.A. producer /artist Koda just released his latest single “Touch”, which is melancholy, intense, and seeps into your feelings. The song begins with lyrics from Koda stating “We touch ourselves to distant memories/I feel what you felt when you were lying next to me.” His voice is drawn out and breathy giving the song a haunting mood to it. While he track tells the tale of a past love, the whole thing isn’t so bleak. Koda finds hope through the heartbreak on “Touch” proclaiming “Next time I’ll hold you close, I’ll never let you go– I need another dose so you can make me whole again.” “Touch” encompasses all the things that went wrong, but all the things that can go right should you make the decision to go the second time around.
Releasing his newest single is Jordan Sudak under the moniker of Koda. Since his debut, Koda has pulled all the stops in order to chase the greatness that he knows could be within his reach within the coming years. Not only is Sudak an artist that can create an atmosphere for the listeners, but he is also able to relate a strong and powerful message through his creative lyricism. Like many of the other artists in this genre, Sudak feeds off of the brooding intensity of his music that is sincere and fueled by passion that has been growing since he first started performing.
“White Dove”, like much of his other music, brings something different to the scene that fans and critics alike have latched on to and have began to crave and expect. Not only does Koda’s music bring in traditional sounds, but it also overlays many of the hooks with loops that sound foreign and has become a signature of this artist. Now that he has released this new single, fans are really wanting to see Koda perform live more often in order to hopefully show off his unique talent.
