“and february was so long that it lasted into march” | february 2021’s best new music

Today, Punxsutawny Phil told us we have 6 more weeks of winter. So, we had to put him at the helm of the piece. Because, you know, his shadow determines how cold we are. Right, east coast? (Who is in the ALWAYS COLD CLUB aside from me?) The Joan Baez lyrics that were chosen for the title of this piece kind of tell it like it is. We don’t mind, though. we’re just going to keep spinning brand new music and be as thrilled as possible with it.

Check out new songs throughout the month at the playlist below. Everything is new, everything is awesome. (Holy hell PLEASE listen to the playlist now, so that the last sentence isn’t stuck in your head all day like it is in mine?)

mtrss | dreams shattered but not broken

mtrss | dreams shattered but not broken

Dreams are very meaningful machines and most of the time they are so much more than we think they are. Dreams tell you what you really know about something, what you really feel and point you toward what you need for growth. So if you want  to know your soul and navigate your life, you can’t do much better than turning to your dreams.

january is the month that cares | best songs 2021

We decided to start 2021 off strong with a lyric that holds true now, more than ever before. (Plus it’s a good ol’ reliable, Elton John song. And since we entered quarantine while he was making a second round on his farewell tour, we will play him on repeat until everything gets rescheduled.)

We also decided to start January off with connection, so you’re getting our favorite new tracks of the month a little late, but with extra intention. So dive in today, tomorrow, or any other day of any other month because our favorites from January 2021 will continue to live here. (Until we can’t afford to host the site anymore, ya dig?)

the waking point | isn’t that weird

the waking point | isn’t that weird

This playlist is a compilation of many of the songs that played a major role in developing The Waking Point’s dark and high energy signature sound. The music from these artists inspired a guide for expression, while the engineering on many of the tracks are goals for future productions.

dancing in september (i think?) | new favorite tracks of whatever this month is, 2020

dancing in september (i think?) | new favorite tracks of whatever this month is, 2020

Each month, we bring you an ever-evolving list of our favorite new tracks out. We reach into every genre, and to far corners of the earth for this talent. And we’re very pleased to see it all unfold over the course of the month — you’ll go from EDM to country rock to pop all in the course of a few songs. We DIG THAT. We LIKE TO INTERRUPT. Yes, the journey of an album in its entirety is important to us. But that’s up to the artist. We’re here to get you out of your comfort zone and help you discover new sounds you may not otherwise be privy to.

So set yourself up for some newness, and hit “PLAY.” Because it might be the only out-of-the-box thing you have any control over right now. And that’s okay.
