On Valentine’s Day, Lawrence, KS favorites The Sluts opened for FIDLAR at 96.5 The Buzz’s holiday show at The Truman. Entertaining as ever, the duo Kristoffer Dover and Ryan Wise injected an intense energy into the audience, making it easy to blow FIDLAR away when they hit the stage. KC, we love you.
On Valentine’s Day, fans of 96.5 The Buzz gathered at The Truman for their annual Valentine’s Day show. This year, FIDLAR joined Kansas City as the headliner, with openers The Sluts. It was a night of wonderful entertainment, surrounded by an enormous amount of blue balloons.

On Saturday, February 23rd, Emo Nite LA hit The Granada in Lawrence, KS. Photographer Ashleigh Lee hit up the event for us, and nabbed some shots so we don’t feel left out.
Bill Homans has been a truck driver, petty criminal and a watermelon farmer. He’s also a member of Mensa, made the only Vietnam War protest album to be written by a veteran during the war, and plays a mean slide guitar. The critically acclaimed Watermelon Slim, who has collected a record-setting number of blues award nominations, thrilled a crowd of fans at the Winter Blues Fest in Des Moines on February 1st.
On January, one woman band Raye Zaragoza made a stunning performance at Rockwood Music Hall. One of our favorites – Mr. Anthony Mulcahy – was on hand to capture the beauty for us.

On December 10th, talented sister duo Larkin Poe took the stage (by quite some force) at The Garage at Knuckleheads Saloon. We got there early, and were still hard-pressed to find a seat anywhere but along the back wall. Serves us right, for thinking a band so in-demand wouldn’t have an early arriving crowd! Photos below.
Having been flummoxed by the talent of Chvrches for years now, it was our incredible pleasure to head out to see them headline The Night The Buzz Stole Xmas this year in Kansas City. Those gorgeous, lightweight vocals, that insane energy that could give anyone life… the night was absolute perfection. Photographer Meredith Schneider shares her point of view below.

Phenomenal songwriter Butch Walker headlined a show at Irving Plaza in New York fairly recently, captivating the crowd as he has for years. The energy coming off the stage was palpable as soon as he stepped on, and we were regaled with a gorgeous evening full of amazing showmanship. Photographer Christie McMenamin captured that for us, and it can be witnessed below.
On October 17th, the stylish powerhouse CYN opened for Years & Years at The Truman in Kansas City, MO. We nabbed a few key shots to make you feel like you were there, front row, enjoying her thrilling live set.
