St. Patrick’s Day was honestly one of the most enjoyable during SXSW 2022. In years past, it has been overwhelming, detracting from the fun of the holiday and the festival all at once. This year, we got to experience a host of amazing international acts that made the day a multi-cultural celebration for us.
The 2pm performance at the International Day Stage started with a DJ set by Bad Gyal Marie. Her set included a lot of incredible tracks from the early 2000s. (Who doesn’t love a good Tweet track, honestly?) We enjoyed this so much that, at one point, she looked up and said “I love the girls dancing in the back” after laughing with us a bit. She made a point to introduce the tracks and give some history on many of them, which was the cherry on top of the set.
After a few minutes, Yayoi Daimon took the stage. Her energy was an uplifting start to the afternoon, and her outfit was the best we saw in celebration of the green holiday. (I mean… LOOK AT THE CHAPS SITUATION!) Check out photos of both artists below!
Haven’t seen Idles live yet? You’re missing out on… an entire experience. Luckily, the insanely talented Anthony Mulcahy shared some photos from his recent night out to see the band at Terminal 5. You can almost taste the sweat.
We were blessed with the presence of live music from Extra Medium Pony during night 2 of our Cancelled Plans Continued. The bauble lights threw an ambiance unlike any other. Donate directly to Extra Medium Pony through their Paypal with email realimportantmail@gmail.com, or to the Imperfect Fifth Tip Jar.
Ships Have Sailed did some incredible work as the last act in our 9 hour stretch of talent at Cancelled Plans Music Festival 2020. If you didn’t get a chance to watch live, revisit it now. And be sure to tip if you have the means!
Local Nomad gave us all the feels at Cancelled Plans Music Festival 2020. Not going to lie, it’s been wonderful hosting so many artists on our platform, and we want to continue to do so because of acts like this! Feel free to leave him a tip if you’re as chill as we are after that set.
Parrot Dream, hands down, provided one of the most spectacular light shows of Cancelled Plans Music Festival 2020. We enjoyed their entire set… and all the comments on their visual and audio artistry afterward. Make sure to tip them for their work!
Kelly Hoppenjans and her rad blue hair serenaded us a bit during our 9 hour Cancelled Plans Music Festival 2020. She’s amazing so if you missed out, it’s time to enjoy.
Chris Wills absolutely melted our hearts with his beautiful music at Cancelled Plans Music Festival 2020. Check him out below, and be sure to donate if you love him as much as we do!
