On Wednesday, March 27th, Arvest Bank Theatre at The Midland opened its doors and welcomed a hefty crowd for the St. Paul & The Broken Bones show. Opener Michael Nau played some acoustic beauts, and we melted into the evening with the incredible Alabama-based collective that truly ignites our souls.
Having been flummoxed by the talent of Chvrches for years now, it was our incredible pleasure to head out to see them headline The Night The Buzz Stole Xmas this year in Kansas City. Those gorgeous, lightweight vocals, that insane energy that could give anyone life… the night was absolute perfection. Photographer Meredith Schneider shares her point of view below.
P.S. You’ll notice even in the imperfections, there are rainbows everywhere. We cannot tout this live show enough.
On December 14th, IronTom played as part of the fun lineup for The Night The Buzz Stole XXMas. Having experienced their pension for live performance this past summer, we weren’t surprised by their ability to get the audience to go wild. But we were slightly perturbed by how difficult it was to capture them, since they never stop moving.
Last fall, Bishop Briggs made her first ever stop in Kansas City as part of 96.5 The Buzz’s Halloweenie Roast. We had been flabbergasted by her talent with her first major single “River,” and covered her for miles on Impose after meeting her and realizing she’s one of the good ones. Here are some dark throwback photos we captured before the Halloween-themed event. (Though I’d say our photo game has improved immensely the last couple of times we have seen her.)
