Fueled by their passion for music, Everett Bird – an emerging Montreal-based trio – is preparing to release their debut album this month. Through clever and catchy song writing, Everett Bird is able to convey relevant and relatable content with twangy hooks that rings similar to popular 90’s hits. Written in an old Montreal apartment, their first full length album was written with the help of band members Mikey Arcidiacono and Liam. Together, their music heavily reflects the popular sounds and vibes of their hometown and is deeply rooted in the indie rock genre.
Though this album is their first to release to the public since signing on with Royal Mountain Records, they have not been shy when it comes to performing around Canada. These three have performed in some of the hottest cities, such as Vancouver and Montreal, which has brought them a significant fan group eagerly awaiting the release of their album on February 23rd.
The hook to this band is found in their wide variety of incorporated styles. They have written music that dabbles in not only traditional indie rock, but also music with noticeable jazz, R&B and punk undertones. Muller’s love of music started young as she wrote songs as a little girl. From the roots, the idea that music could transform her lyrics into something exhilarating and new. For Muller, her music contains lyrics that pertain to her own personal experiences which gives the music she releases a depth that is very real and relatable. Now that she has pushed through the release of a few songs, she was gathered fans throughout the world who are eagerly awaiting new music from her in the near future. In regards to where she wants to be by the end of this year, she has revealed that she would like to perform live more regularly, which is good news for all those who already love and adore her music.
Releasing his newest single is Jordan Sudak under the moniker of Koda. Cutting their teeth in Chula Vista, California is doom metal band Of Ennui. Band members Christian Cate (guitar), Brian Strauss (vocals and guitar), Angus Garcia (bass and back vox), and Indigo Machado (drummer) have formed together to create music that fans and followers like have come to love. Their artistry truly lies in their ability to emote an amazing amount of feeling in what some have called, “poignant narrative lyricism.” Their latest EP, Tone Poems, is no different from all of the other music that they have put out since forming together in 2015. Not only does Tone Poems embody everything that their fans love about this group, but it also features new, insightful imaginative artistry that projects feelings experienced by the band members themselves. Not only does the music express difficult topics, but also addresses intense issues that make their work relateable to many of their fans.
Tone Poems was recorded in San Diego and mixed by award winning Jerik Centeno. This release has a tone that separates itself from their prior work, but still acts as nice addition to their collection of music that they have produced this far. Brooklyn based singer siren Emmy Wildwood breaks out of the pop box that fans and listeners have latched onto with incredible force. Since the beginning of Wildwood’s career in 2013, she has defied all limits of the genre by bringing heavy hooks and an experimental style that is unique to her sound. Listening to music produced by this artist has been described as a mystic and lush while it also explores some of the more unfamiliar areas of the industry. Vocally, Wildwood has a past in performing with punk bands, but later broke away from that mold in order to use her inventive spirit to turn heads. As she stepped into the spotlight with a swagger unique to her own style, heads of fans and critics alike were turned.
Most recently, after spending several years to write her second album, she returned last year with her single, “Scream” as well as several mash-ups of some of the most recognized songs in the pop industry. After releasing their single “Chorus”, front man Nate Cardaci of Literature decided that he would assemble a band that would act as an outlet for songs of a similar vibe. This is what brought about the birth of one of the newest groups to enter the indie-dream pop scene. Along with several other members from the original Literature group such as Steven Garcia and Seth Whaland as well as recruiting new friends such as synth player Ian Jensen. With this new lineup the newly formed Très Oui was able to show the music world what they had to offer.
