Part of my writing process is listening to countless hours of music.. Here are some of the songs that inspired “Midnight“. This is the perfect soundtrack for your rainy days and late night drives, filled with songs that combine the best of lofi and r&b vibes.
A few of the songs included are by some of my close friends, like “I’m Sorry” by Swell (feat. Shiloh) & “simple things….” by idntrmmbr.
“Midnight” is available now. Keep up with Jordan Andrew here.

Ontario-based fourpiece The Crowleys have just dropped their brand new EP, Colours Change Their Tone. The Crowleys is made up of high school friends Cohen Wylie providing lead vocals and guitar, drums and backing vocals from Stuart Downie, Kaulin Horlick’s bass, and Justyn Horlick on keys and guitar.Recorded at Threshold Recording Studio, Colours Change Their Tone represents a big step into the future for the Crowleys. Known for their signature psychedelic pop, The Crowleys have a unique sound that fits well into the evolving soundscape of the 21st century.
Colours Change Their Tones starts off with the mellow, inescapable attraction of “Pink Rainbows”. After “Pink Rainbows” is “Midnight Blue”, the namesake for the album. A psychedelic, synth-packed track carries the EP well and provides a smooth transition into the next track, “Stargazer”. Midway through Colours Change Their Tones is “Girl What”, a groovy, sassy track that indubitably shines on the EP. Laced with even percussion and Following “Girl What” is “L.A. Sunsets, which again highlights the psychedelic aspects of The Crowleys while maintaining an approachable sound. Colours Change Their Tones closes out with “Pansy Party Extravaganza”, which sounds just as the name implies.
The Crowleys on their new EP: “The title comes from a corny little line in Midnight Blue, “The colours change their tone when I hear her on the phone”. It’s about how a significant person or event can change how you perceive everything around you. Small or dull things that you never notice are suddenly bright and very much in the foreground. Or like a character in a film that falls upon tough times and has literal storm clouds roll overhead. Related to that is how terrifying it is that sudden and small things or occurrences – in the grand scheme of your life – can have huge impacts.”
We are thrilled that Colours Change Their Tone is out in the world, and you should definitely give it a listen.

Noctis Magazine describes Modern Me as …ushering in a fresh new era of indie rock.” Noctis hit the nail on the head. Modern Me’s new track “Dead to Me” is a sharp, infectious, tongue-in-cheek epistle for the former lover that twisted your jaw to the point of “don’t text me anymore, I’m SO over it.” The Southern California natives’ music video to the track opens with a couple in a café and lead singer looking upon them. His contempt for the girl (ex) sets an absolute theme for the song and the video.
The video moves to the band in a car unenthusiastically singing their lyrics with expressionless faces. I love this song because it screams an I-don’t-care attitude while giving you courage to move on. Modern Me is definitely worth checking out. 2018 is set to be a big year for rising London-based singer/songwriter Freja Frances. With her new single “Papercuts”, Freja Frances displays her effortless vocal talents. The inspiration behind the track is very deep. “Papercuts” is about feeling isolated and being distant from the real world.
Sonically, the song seems like a fairytale dream. Freja pulls at the listener’s emotions with her raw and real vocals alongside a beautiful piano melody. The song is very relatable. “Papercut” is not only captivating, but it is authentic as well.

As easy as it is to access music now, the on going change of favorite songs is such a fun one to us, we thought for a while about what theme we wanted to choose and ended up with this “Top 5 favorite songs we are listening to right now.” It kinda leans in a lot of very different directions, from pop to rap to post hardcore to metal. We all have very different music tastes which is actually a lot of fun when it comes to touring cause depending on who is driving, the music style changes. Never gets boring in the van!
Hope you enjoy Kalie, Seb, Micket and Josh’s favorite tunes as of 12/4/2017!
