Formed in 2012, Asa Eisenhardt and post-punk outfit Nostalgist has announced the release of their next full length album Disaffection by the end of March. Not only are they releasing digital copies of their album, but they have also produced vinyl records that can be purchased as well. The six-track album offers the very best of Nostalgist with all of the same undertones, nuances and flares that have rocked their fans since the beginning of the band. Disaffection is meant the follow bands prior albums, Of Days Long Ago (2015) and 2013’s EP Monochromatic. Since the release of their last album three years ago, the band has been working tirelessly to produce more music that not only captures their unique sound in an album, but also to make music that their fans around the country could enjoy.
Nostalgist’s music is comprised of heavy, ethereal post-punk rhythms and sounds that are completely their own. This has not changed with the release of their new album. Before the release of the full collection, Nostalgist has release “Present:Tense,” which is the first single of the forthcoming album. Within the music there is increasing tension and pressure that seems to rise with each second that elapses. With the release of their successful single, we have all the expectations and hopes that the music community will react similarly to the release of the full album.
Disaffection is out Friday, March 30th. Keep up with the band here.

From the beginning of their formation, Fond of Rudy – a four piece indie alt pop band out of Brighton – has planned on creating pop music that brings your emotions to the forefront with catchy lyrics and great production sound. Their latest single, “Next”, is a song that dives into the serious issues in life. This song captures people fighting a battle with themselves and life. The song may seem like a pop track but if you listen closely, you will find a deeper meaning. “Next” shows that as humans we do not have to be perfect all the time and when we fall apart it is not our fault.
The song is perfection from start to finish with its great vocals and smooth beat behind it.

Band of Gold just premiered their single “Well Who Am I” off of their forthcoming album Where’s The Magic. PopMatters describes the band sound as “A really unique take on pop music… an intriguing sound.” It is in fact an intriguing sound as the track is quirky, unique, and very zany. What you think is going to start off as an alt-pop song, leans into a rock guitar solo, but not until the vocals pick up the pace and end the song abruptly.
The most interesting part of “Well Who Am I” is the bands’ seemingly random lyrics. It starts off “I like the way you comb you hair” and is followed by “I like the neatness of your hair….but I don’t think you’ll ever dare.” The uniqueness and array of sounds/genres is what makes this song so fascinating, and addicting.

British Columbian duo Violet Night is gearing up to show the world what they can do. Violet Night is made of vocals and guitar from Connor Pohl and T.J. Rounthwaite on keys. Violet Night is set to release their debut record Colours Of You which will be out May 4.
Pohl says of the upcoming album:
We grew up on everything from heavy metal and rap, to emo and pop. We try to create a colourful mosaic of all those influences when we write; we’ve never created with borders or put limitations on what we are allowed to sound like. We’ll always do whatever feels most honest to us at that moment in our lives and I think we’ve done that here. We are really proud of the album and hope the hues presented complement yours: the colours of you.
Featured on the album is lead single “North”, along with an accompanying studio music video. The song captures a spirit of adventure, longing, and energy. “North” encompasses the emotion that Violet Night does so well at capturing. We look forward to their upcoming album and we think you will too.

Artist Evelinn Trouble releases her latest single “Monstruous.” The track starts out with a softs notes of a piano (almost calming a for about five seconds. However, the mood shifts quickly into an electronic drop. Evelinn tells us the tale of a conflicting love song as her raw vocals proclaim “It is monstruous, it is evrything for a moment then, then it’s nothing.” ” ‘Monstruous is my attempt at writing a romantic pop anthem…now I love it for what it is; a song about the impossibility of love, made of scraps, wrapped shiny in plastic” says the artist. “Monstruous” is emotional, raw, haunting, and definitely worth the listen.

Plutinos is a solo project from Denver based Nate Barnes who was previously in the band Rose Hill Drive. Nate decided to go on to release his own music under Plutinos after spending years touring with other artists. Plutinos is here with the release of his new single “Falling Away”.
The track starts out with a guitar sound that is later accompanied by Nate Barnes’ voice. The song continues with a bass and drums that echo throughout the track. The song is about trying to fit in without destroying yourself first, and gets you lost in its sound until the end.very
“Falling Away” is great from start to finish. Plutinos definitely has a hit on his hands with his one.
