San Jose-based indie pop/electronica singer/songwriter Anja Kotar has a new music video for her enticing single “Coltrane”, and we’re lucky enough to be hosting the exclusive premiere. Her soulful, robust vocals dance effortlessly across a soundscape you can’t help but move to when you hear it. Kotar displays her playful side while she sings into the mirror while applying makeup. She also splashes around in a tub, dances in sandals, and hangs out around her home, seen through rose-colored glasses.

PNW-based CNJR (kon-jer) creates a soundscape like no other, drawing from multiple genres for a sound that is theatric, brooding, and alive in all of its synth-infused glory. An instrumental masterpiece, we find ourselves drawn in by the hip-hop aspects of the track, the bass coming through in spurts that make any listener want to move. Though the Hive Mind EP isn’t set to release until next month on Future Archive Recordings, we have the exclusive premiere of new track “Ansible” (and its two remixes) below. Check them out, and let us know which one is your favorite!

A visual masterpiece, Stefano Zeni is releasing the new music video for his track “Orange Clouds On The Horizon”, and we’ve got the exclusive premiere. The visual showcases the artist himself playing in beautiful places, surrounded at times by gorgeous landscapes, intricate architecture, and street art. The song plays off of the idea that a hectic day can be made more relaxing when the sun begins to set and that light marks closing in on a new day and a new chance at everything, and the tempo changes and patterns in the track mirror those feelings. “Orange Clouds On The Horizon” does its due diligence in presenting the instrumentals in the way they seem to have been written to be presented. After all, what better than to pair a gorgeous soundscape with matching features in the world?

Alternative indie rock music project The March Divide – from brainchild Jared Putnam – has a million tour dates ahead of him, but that didn’t stop him from releasing the brand new animated music video for the single “To All My Friends”. The song itself feels like a feel-good 90s indie pop track-meets-alt-rock/pop track from the oughts, and the visuals are brilliant and eye opening, to say the least. Explains Jared of the work:
I reached out to director and animator, Harold Loeffler-Bell, to do some videos for songs from my new album ‘Anticipation Pops.’ Harry really has a way of communicating the songs, in a simple and completely accurate way. Being shielded, while everything is falling down around you, perfectly explains the attitude and emotion of the trilogy of animated videos he created for the songs ‘I Don’t Care,’ ‘Overexposure,’ and now, ‘To All My Friends.’ Sometimes we need some help from our friends, to make it through.
We are lucky enough to be hosting the exclusive premiere of the video, so get your peepers on the work below!

Nashville-based indie rock outfit Jon Reynolds & The Aches releases a new track this week called “Tomorrow’s News”, and we’ve got your exclusive premiere. The second single in their three track lead up to their EP in early 2019, “Tomorrow’s News” exists at a moderate clip, really drawing the listener in to its country vibes. At first listen, hints of The Eagles are palpable. Admits Reynolds of the meaning behind the track:
After the November 2016 elections wrapped up, I felt a deep need and responsibility to contribute what I could to what I can only describe as a cultural civil war. On an even more personal level, I promised myself 4 years ago, when I first moved to Nashville, that I would make music I believed in: music that I was passionate about personally. There are few things more motivating than seeing a man who openly discussed sexual assault get elected president of the United States. I wake up feeling very anxious about the next nonsensical statement or action I’m going to read in my morning news- I put that feeling into this song.
Allow yourself to get enveloped in a beautiful expression of frustration with our current world. This song is a beautiful conversation starter, and the exact sound you need on an early autumn evening.

San Luis Obispo-based indie pop duo Soft People – comprised of married couple Caleb Nichols and John Metz – are following up their 2017 debut American Man with quirky, upbeat new track “I Saw the Moon!” Soaked in reverb that makes the song feel a bit more ethereal than its pop sound would otherwise express, we’re in love with the energy “I Saw The Moon!” provides. Check it out below!

San Francisco-based dark indie pop duo New Spell – comprised of Leanne Kelly and Jacob Frautschi – dropped their 4-track EP Of Time, Part II today, and we’ve got your exclusive sneak peek at the release in its entirety. While aspects of “You Win” feel electronic – the song oozes quirky instrumentals that mirror our favorite video games – Kelly’s light as a feather vocals carry it into a more ethereal soundscape. The duo took the time to add fluid-sounding instrumentals to second track “Like Water”, and brought the entire tone of the album down for third track “Merely Mortal”. “Of Time” maintains this darker demeanor, while still leaving its listener feeling uplifted and – at times – breathless as it winds the release down.
