Indie-soul musician Oliver Kennan releases the music video for his single “The Tinkerer” today, and we’ve got the exclusive premiere. Slightly muted colors give a vintage tinge to the visual that allows it to match its soundscape a little more. A complicated relationship, lots of curls, and some quick choreography make for a stellar visual experience. Explains Oliver:
The music video for ‘The Tinkerer’ is a surreal comedy about a young girl and the chaos of growing up. It re-contextualizes the lyrics of the song which read like the wild inner dialogue of a troubled soul. Everyone knows that adolescence can be just as complicated as adulthood and the contrast of the image of a child and the thoughts of an adult lets us explore that idea and laugh about it at the same time.

Today, indie-electro duo Ideomotor releases a brilliant new video for their song “One Last Time”, and we have the exclusive premiere available right here! It all begins with a text, igniting a fire in the watcher’s belly about the importance of launching a music video for the new release. Stress almost seems to consume them as they ponder the release. The way to get out of their heads involves a night out, and a beautifully shot music video drenched in deviance and a really good time. Explains director Vesa Salmi:
We did a run and gun production with a hand held camera without much crew or time for that matter. In a lot of occasions we just had to make use of the available light as we didn’t want to compromise the aim of getting the best shots amid the restraints. We wanted to capture authentic moments and at times the guys did not even know that I was shooting. I wanted to portray the band in a natural setting where living in different countries poses everyday problems that they regularly seem to overcome with a solid all for one effort that clearly brings joy to them and their listeners.
Sometimes to get out of your head, you’ve got to let loose. It’s time to let loose with Ideomotor.

New Orleans-based indie pop band
Royal Teeth manages to meld vulnerability and a catchy beat together in their latest single “Rivalry.” The track highlights the ever-present rivalry between change and constancy — the inner turmoil of deciding whether to move on or not to move on. The lead vocals of Gary Larsen and Nora Patterson, paired with guitarist Thomas Onebane and drummer Josh Hefner, creates a sound that allows the music to take hold of their listeners in an emotional way. The chorus stands out as the perfect example of how
Royal Teeth can show off their own musical style— deeply honest lyrics to a toe-tapping beat so that it gets stuck in your head:
Baby I’m not wasting no more time,
Drag my heart down one too many times,
Hold me steady give me one more try,
I made up my mind, I’m wasting no more time.

Gina Été’s latest single “Im Rhy” comes with a music video that perfectly encapsulates the bittersweet feelings that come with change. The song, which is sung in Swiss German, is highlighted by the shadow puppet artistry of Barbara Steinitz and Peter Bräunig.. The puppets seem to tell the story of Été herself – a paper girl alone in a big city finds herself standing on a bridge, wanting to jump back into her past. The use of the unique, beautiful art of puppetry manages to make this particular video stand out among the sea of over-produced pop music videos. “Im Rhy” is heartbreakingly honest, and the poignant ambiance of both the song and video create an experience that most of us can relate to.

Self-proclaimed grunge pop baby talker’s latest venture is a cover of an iconic mid-2000s rock track – TV on the Radio’s “Wolf Like Me.” It’s a high energy, lyrically passionate song that talker manages to make her own. The music video is quite simple, showing talker and the band recording in a studio, which allows for the music to be the focal point. talker’s voice brings a unique, edgy femininity to the song. Her cover is cool and effortless, and it makes you want to dance around until its time to press replay again.

Montreal-based genre-blending queer artist KAYTA releases the new music video for her track “Karma” this week. Her soulful vocals dance lightly across a moody backdrop, and the video reflects that sentiment perfectly. As KAYTA dances and sings, the warmth of the lights is softened by late night fog, creating a distinct feeling of wholeness.
We are big, big fans of the song itself and even more so of the accompanying visual. Check it out below!

Oakland-based R&B newcomers Meernaa – comprised of Carly Bond, Rob Shelton, Andrew Maguire, and Doug Stuart – might be revving up for the release of their debut album Heart Hunger, but we’ve got their latest music video on deck for you.
Kaleidoscope effects and gorgeously layered art in colors of striking contrast make up the bulk of the visual, and the moment the moon phases hit is paired so beautifully with Carly’s vocals that it is hard not to get goosebumps. You’ll see what we mean below.

Scott Lavene‘s latest video for his track “Broke” is quite the theatric accomplishment. The song itself has its quirks – as Lavene seems to be known for his tongue-in-cheek references already -, comprised of spoken word over ridiculously calming layers of instrumentals. If it were up to us, it’s your time to get lost in the fabulousness of this new visual. Check it out below, and let us know what you think! (Then perhaps down some champagne in a top hat in a park somewhere?)
