rare diagram, “keep me” {premiere}

rare diagram, “keep me” {premiere}

Shot on the expansive and gorgeous Oregon coast and TIllamook State Forest – a beauty captured which the band is very proud of -, Rare Diagram brings us the exclusive premiere of the music video for their single “Keep Me”. The band is expertly comprised of Justin Chase (keys, vocals), Emma Browne (guitar, keys, vocals), Joseph Berman (guitar), Chris Marshall (bass), and Alex Radakovich (drums), and the song itself was written while Emma and Justin (who both make appearances in the video) were traveling in Argentina last year. Delivered mellifluously, “Keep Me” is a song about dealing with passivity in relationships and possesses a bittersweet feeling that only the Oregon coast could capture.

Director Hanna Hagen is the mastermind behind the video’s concept – which was inspired by the 70s vibe to the track itself – a movie-like quality to a tortured and beautiful plot line that could only be achieved by an array of vintage lenses and an incredible Director of Photography (Sean Conley). This video is also the perfect escape for those of us experiencing FOMO about not being able to go on luscious nature hikes in the dead of winter.

Let yourself get lost in this quirky, moving, and mesmerizing video.

Keep your eyes peeled for a record release in late summer 2018 via the band’s Facebook.

ferris and sylvester, “better in yellow”

ferris and sylvester, “better in yellow”

Yellow seems to be a common theme in the world of London-based folk duo Ferris and Sylvester. Following their debut EP, The Yellow Line, Issy Ferris and Archie Sylvester have released the single “Better in Yellow”, off their upcoming EP, Made in Streatham.

Filmed in 80’s-esque 4:3, the video for “Better in Yellow” is full of visually appealing shots with a sunshine yellow theme and old-timey TV feel. The simplicity of the visuals allows for a spotlight on the lyrics and instrumentation of the track. A tribute to standing out instead of letting one’s originality be sucked up by the humdrum of the world, “Better in Yellow” is sure to flood your day with hope and happiness. There’s something so heart-warming about watching someone get an egg cracked on their head, covered in yellow paint, and rained upon with potato chips.

With a unique sound combining folky tunes with hints of blues, and even a touch of trumpet, “Better in Yellow” is not to be missed. Ferris and Sylvester know how to not only work together on a musical level, but also in matters of aesthetic, and the “Better in Yellow” video is tribute to this.

oh geronimo gets passionate with “mountains”

oh geronimo gets passionate with “mountains”

Oh Geronimo just released “Mountains”, a new single from their upcoming album titled The SledFrom the moment the song begins, strings from the guitar begin to consume you. As the beat picks up, drums are added in and the sound of the lead vocalist’s voice takes over the track.

“Mountains” is a song about pursuing your dreams and what you are passionate about. The song shows that although everyone longs to be successful, you must climb over obstacles that may get in your way to achieve your dreams. The theme of “Mountains” is to never give up despite what may get in your way.

Along with the single, Modern Me also released the video for “Mountains”. It is not only colorful but also very vibrant. As the song plays in the background, lyrics from the song play across the screen while colorful video clips are being shown. Not only is the song awesome, but the video for the song is amazing too!

The Sled is scheduled to be released February 9th, 2018. Keep up with the band here.

Comprised of vocals and guitar from Carlotta Cosials and Ana Perrote, Ade Martin on bass and backing vocals, and Amber Grimbergen on drums, Hinds has been around since 2011 and already has a devoted fan base.

The video is, thematically, based on Hinds (and friends) playing football (American soccer), and full of feel-good, “I don’t care” vibes. holy golden shows the otherworld with “arrival”

holy golden shows the otherworld with “arrival”

Musical duo Leslie Schott and Andrew Valenti of Holy Golden take you across the coastline in their new music video for their song “Arrival”. The duo met during a lunar eclipse on the island of Martha’s Vineyard. From there, they connected through music, thus forming Holy Golden. “Arrival” is the latest single from Holy Golden following their 2017 release The Licking River EP, which was well received amongst listeners.

Schott’s breathtaking vocals take over the track on “Arrival”. The music video starts out with the couple sailing in a rowboat on the coastline. The duo roams around the beach, reading stores, sharing bread and long gazes between one another. The video is fairly entertaining. They then have a romantic date on the beach that later takes an interesting turn.

The mood goes from being romantic to adventurous as the couple comes across a map with instructions. The video gives off positive vibes from the moment it begins, a mixture of romance and mystery of what the map entails.

“Arrival” is one of the latest songs from Holy Golden’s upcoming album Otherworld, which is available February 16th. Keep up with the act here.

natali felicia, “this summer is cruel”

natali felicia, “this summer is cruel”

Seems particularly cruel when people release music videos full of references to warmer weather, or full of visuals of summer in the dead of winter. And yet, it happens all the time. At least, that’s how we feel in the northern hemisphere at this very moment. But the way Natali Felicia represents her surroundings in “This Summer is Cruel” is slightly cruel, in that it feels as though it’s promising this flash of warm weather and brilliant color, whereas the video was shot in black and white, and hosts visuals with soft breezes and – while you certainly get a glimpse of water – no real proof that it was even shot in the summer. The Stockholm-bred musician released her music video for “This Summer is Cruel” leading up to the release of her debut album, expected later this year. Her melancholic video is certainly enhanced to full-length picture quality with the robust and gorgeous tones to her vocals, indicating she is about to stake her claim on the music industry with full force.

dream wife, “hey heartbreaker”

dream wife, “hey heartbreaker”

On January 26th, we will have the pleasure of enjoying Dream Wife‘s debut album in its entirety, but until then we’ve got another fun surprise for you. The trio recently released the music video for their track “Hey Heartbreaker”, and we’ve got it for you to enjoy. Directed and animated (Beautifully, might we add?) by Mason London, the video is alluring in its ability to capture your attention utilizing robot cartoons. Somehow, we feel like we’re getting a little taste of the band’s actual performance chops in the video, even though their characters are animated robots. The video has the unmistakable feel of a Gorillaz classic in the way its presented, with a slightly more punk and empowered tilt to it all.
