Local Nomad took to our virtual stage for A Night w/ One in a Million Media: Imperfect Fifth’s Anniversary. With minor microphone problems and a lot of passion, the performance is what music is all about. With just a guitar in hand and a microphone, there was a feeling like you were at an intimate, acoustic concert. Watching an artist perform takes you out of the moment and transported to a different world, which is what happened here. If you weren’t a fan of Local Nomad yet, you definitely are now. Starting out with “Love is Gone”, off the EP LOCAL NOMAD, it is easy to tell that Mike Desmond loves what he does. Throughout the set, there is a fire behind his voice that ignites the lyrics and brings the songs to life. He plays three more songs, and talks about his decision not to play a Leonard Cohen song. With the help of his friend James, the set was a real success and gives you that feeling you might be missing from seeing live shows. If you have around 20 minutes and missed the original stream, check out Local Nomad’s performance below.
On June 24th, Imperfect Fifth hosted our first official variety show with the indelible Cat Call. An idea sparked by Cat Call founder Brittany Brave, we were more than happen to collaborate it into existence with a badass lineup of incredible female voices. We started the evening with some awkward banter from Imperfect Fifth’s Meredith Schneider, followed by a bangin’ comedy set from Brittany Brave. Jillian Riscoe, Kamber, Jessie Hyde, and Lauren LoGrasso followed, with a night of compliments and good feelings all-around. But, truly, we were there for the talent. And not a single beautiful human disappointed.
Keep your eyes on the scroll for everyone’s tip jars. Remember, we’re all out of work to one degree or another right now, so every little bit helps. Feel free to donate to the Imperfect Fifth Tip Jar, and leave a note for which writer/intern/performer you’d like to support. Enjoy the entertainment, and remember to be kind to yourself and others!
P.S. Please take a moment to adore Brittany Brave, who is the object of our featured photo.
Cancelled Plans Continued, Night II was one of our favorite livestream events. Practice brought some amazing key work to the lineup, and we’re very excited to share the replay with you. Dive into it for some ambiance tonight!
Brothers Devin and Patrick Parker of Til Morning were incredible enough to play for us during Night 2 of our Cancelled Plans Continued on May 14th. We love the plants, and know that Devin is working on some gardening right now as well as some fun new music stuff during quarantine. So, head over and give them a like after enjoying this cool set!
We were blessed with the presence of live music from Extra Medium Pony during night 2 of our Cancelled Plans Continued. The bauble lights threw an ambiance unlike any other. Donate directly to Extra Medium Pony through their Paypal with email realimportantmail@gmail.com, or to the Imperfect Fifth Tip Jar.
Night 1 of Cancelled Plans Continued was far more than we could have ever dreamed of. (Seriously, guys, you’re setting us up for failure here.) Our audience enjoyed Jenny March so much at Cancelled Plans Music Festival 2020, that they demanded an encore. So, back by request, here is an extended performance from her!
On April 17, we hosted one of the most magnificent 9 hour marathons of live music practically ever. (That’s a bold claim, but challenge us!) Whitacre performed, people clapped from their sofas and beds, and this just proves we have to have an extended Whitacre tour once the world allows for it again. Check out the talent below!
