We decided to start 2021 off strong with a lyric that holds true now, more than ever before. (Plus it’s a good ol’ reliable, Elton John song. And since we entered quarantine while he was making a second round on his farewell tour, we will play him on repeat until everything gets rescheduled.)
We also decided to start January off with connection, so you’re getting our favorite new tracks of the month a little late, but with extra intention. So dive in today, tomorrow, or any other day of any other month because our favorites from January 2021 will continue to live here. (Until we can’t afford to host the site anymore, ya dig?)

Martin Luther King Jr.’s impact on civilization as a whole is no small feat, and celebrating just one day every year is simply not enough. But we will do what we can with what we are given, and today I am proud to share the impactful new track from jazz musician Ben Williams titled “We Shall Overcome.” The pace is slow, the soundscape feels sultry, but there is a sense of pain in the delivery that makes it obvious from the first “We Shall Overcome” that this song is an anthem. The pace stays at a crawl, almost mimicking the dramatic effect of each and every step taken during Memphis’ historic 1968 African American sanitation workers’ strike, for which the title of the song was chosen.
Celebrate your strength and abilities. Take a moment with this song and really feel it, and take on the support and love those who inspired this track showed the world. It’s our turn to raise each other’s voices and to treat each other with the dignity, respect, and love we all deserve. This song will ensure that.
I AM A MAN is out February 7th. Keep up with Ben Williams here.

Before I started to draft this post, I was wondering what lyric or phrase to associate with the title. For simply no reason, Tina Turner’s “Simply the Best” popped into my head, and it just seemed to fit. (As I quote, “Simply Dusty… is there any other kind?” in my head. Those of you who get that quote, understand me.)
But 2020 is going to be the best. And if it hasn’t been yet, it’s just the start! So get amped with all of these incredible new music video releases, all in one place!

Magnetic musical duo Oh Wonder began 2020 on the right foot, with the release of new single “Happy”. We can’t tell you how ecstatic we are that there is another song called “Happy” that won’t complete annoy us. (Sorry, Pharrell, we still love you.) Sticky sweet, a bit seductive, and totally light as a feather, this song is actually a testament to the strength it takes to see someone after your love has fizzled out. In this circumstance, some time has passed, and there has been room to grow and forgive and accept. The line of the chorus that has us weak in the knees exclaims, “Oh, I never thought I’d be happy to see you with somebody new.”
Beauty in acceptance. We’re going to go ahead and get on board.

London-based singer/songwriter Phildel possesses a voice that is absolutely magnetic, a trait especially noticeable in her new track “Electric Heights”, released today. Let her lightweight vocals set the tone for your day, creating an ambiance that is absolutely splendid, despite moments of melancholia. It’s absolutely entrancing, and definitely worth a few listens.
Keep up with Phildel here.
