Monthly Hits has just released the incredible “Need You Tonight” from CCIITTYY and it’s an essential listen if you like emotive electronic sounds. The duo has moved from strength to strength since they first emerged as an act, and the summer saw them release the stunning “Still On My Mind.”
Combining soul-searching vocals with slightly retro synth patterns and brooding beats, CCIITTYY have really honed their pop hybrid signature. As we edge towards 2019, we can expect further musical goodness from this pair throughout the incoming twelve months.
The seriously talented OIJ is taking centre stage with another new single release. He has had great successes with his Wabi Sabi EP and “Back To The Start” featuring GIA KOKA, and now brings us “Seconds Away From Love.”
It takes a fresh direction to some of his previous tracks, and is given a deep, cinematic energy that seems to claw its way through the speakers. Expansive melodies and steadily progressing electronic washes mean that “Seconds Away From Love” has a meaningful and somewhat haunting quality.
Shining brightly over on Absent Mind this week is the new single from ZENDR and singer/songwriter James Chatburn. It is the second time ZENDR has released on the newly established label, and we love this latest offering.
Once again ZENDR brings out soulful, jazz-inspired notes into this production, whilst Chatburn does a glorious job of allowing his tones to fill the space in between brass-led riffs and smooth electronic transitions.
Be sure to check out this collaboration right away for a dreamy end to the week.
Just released on Sony Music Norway is “Better With You,” the latest slice of electronic goodness from Maybon. With a whole host of wonderful sounds under his belt, the producer is back for more with this track that features Temmpo.
It is somewhat darker than some of his previous works and will pull you in under its enticing spell. Riddled with slow-transitioning synths and powerful vocals from Temmpo, this is well worth a listen. Maybon says: “‘Better With You’ is about how you feel better when you’re with that one special person. We all have someone who can lift us when we’re having a bad day – and the song is about that feeling.”
Giving us some much-needed summery sounds this week is PALASTIC, a production duo based out of Vienna. They are growing a solid fan base thanks to their richly musical tunes, and they have piano, drumming and guitar skills between them. This week’s track is “Goldmine,” and we’re hitting repeat on it.
Warm electronic notes support its pop-tinged vocals beautifully, and crisp notes of percussion in all the right places add some bite to proceedings. The pair says: “We love this track! Written in the first sunny days of spring surrounded by good vibes, the mood easily translated into this upbeat, contagious song that we are very excited to release!”
We’re still singing the catchy “Single-Minded” from Anna Mae. She has now treated us to a brand new single via the Swedish platform Snafu Records, “You Might Be Better.” There is something effortless about the Nashville singer/songwriter’s style, and it is pulling in an audience from across the globe.
This tune is deliciously melodic and has just enough natural groove to keep it moving forward. In the meantime, Anna Mae’s empowering vocals sit over the top and provide another engaging narrative to support its musical content.
There’s no doubting the undeniable talent pouring out of Sweden’s very own Samuraii. Hailing from Stockholm and co-signed by the behemoth that is Ultra Music, he first came to prominence with his single “On Me” (also released on Ultra) and his huge remix of Tove Lo’s “Moments.”
The up-and-comer is back again with another fire track titled “Changed My Mind.” This banger incorporates the best elements of styles like trap and dubstep and merges them with a pop sensibility. With a solid vocal from Loote’s lead singer Emma, there’s no doubting this will be another hit for Samuraii.
It’s out now, and you can check out the track below.
The dreamy pairing that is Wild Culture have just released a new single through RCA/SME. Titled “Together Alone,” this is a powerful and reflective piece of power pop that has a rich electronic tip.
With millions of plays to their name and known for their fusion of styles, Wild Culture keep to a refined vibe with the track. Interlacing piano melodies and searching drum beats, the vocals of Loren Nine are left to work their magic. The duo says: “We are so happy that it is finally available and everyone can listen to it! It is about a facet of life which we think most people have experienced.”
Having captured the imaginations of listeners this year with a string of quality singles, including the massive “Feel Alright” and “Whatever You Do Like,” both tracks clocking in at just over 8 million streams on Spotify alone, Haneri is back with her third release of 2018 in the form of “Real Love.”
Haneri pairs her classy vocals with a mellow, down-tempo production which helpfully showcase her incredible range as a singer. Musically it’s stripped back and low key, “Real Love” has a dreamy warmth which is sure to endear listeners to her music even more. She is sure to have a strong 2019, too.
